"You must be out of your mind." I've heard this as much as most people but, not often was it said when I told friends I was retiring from my job as the head of a comprehensive school art department. After years of draining my own creative juices into the keenly energetic, and the less so, creative minds of an army of youngsters I was at last able to fully replenish my tanks and concentrate on my own work. The results are on this site. Since giving up teaching I have been seduced by the beauty of glass, the immediacy of working with it in lead and the sheer joy of creating in a new medium. My glass is done by hand in the traditional way and is based on my existing artistic skills and influenced whenever possible by the work of my favourite artists. For the last six years I have been working on large murals in a friends house, converted from a chapel, and more decorative work and murals in the same friends' daughter's house.
